Customers protest near e-orange office

More than a hundred agitated customers have held a demonstration in front of the office of e-commerce platform e-orange at Gulshan-2 intersection in Dhaka on Monday, protesting the company’s failure in delivering products.

Meanwhile, another large group of agitated customers gathered in front of Gulshan Police Station demanding refund from the company fearing that e-orange officials might flee the country with their money.

Nearly a thousand complaints swarmed after e-orange, in a Facebook post on Monday, said their contract with their brand ambassador Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, a parliamentarian and former national cricketer, has been declared void from July this year.

The e-orange authorities were supposed to publish a product list outlining the pending orders and the stipulated time of delivery.

Instead, the platform sought another 45 to 60 days for publishing the list, which led to customer resentment.

However, e-orange claimed that from August 19, supply of all products except motorcycles will continue.
