The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) started selling essential commodities at subsidised prices from Saturday to keep the market stable.
TCB spokesperson Humayun Kabir said the countrywide sales would continue until September 28, following health and safety guidelines amid the pandemic.
“Under the programme, we will sell edible oil, sugar, lentil and onion on 300 mobile trucks,” he said.
An individual can buy a maximum of 2kg lentil, 2-4kg sugar, 2-4kg onion and 2-5 litres of soybean oil directly from the TCB truck in a day.
TCB is selling a kg of sugar at Tk 55, lentil at Tk 55, onion at Tk 55 and soybean oil at Tk 100 per litre.
