38 more Covid deaths, 1,907 fresh cases in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has reported 38 new coronavirus-related deaths and 1,907 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Friday.

The positivity rate went up to 6.41 per cent from Thursday’s 5.98 per cent.

The overall caseload now stands at 15,40,110 and the total fatalities at 27,147, according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 29,756 samples at 808 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 93,93,365 samples.

Meanwhile, 2,919 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the past 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 14,97,009.

Among the fresh fatalities, 13 were males and 25 were females.
