UAE-bound passengers depart after RT-PCR test

Passengers bound for the United Arab Emirates have started departing Dhaka after receiving Covid negative certificate from RT-PCR laboratories inside Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

An Emirates flight with 65 passengers departed from Dhaka for the UAE at 1:30am Thursday, marking the resumption of regular flights between the two nations.

HSIA Executive Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan told The Business Post that test reports being provided by the six newly-installed RT-PCR laboratories have been satisfactory.

“Only UAE-bound passengers can get Covid-19 testing facilities at the at RT-PCR labs of HSIA,” he added.

The screening process was started after the UAE government granted approval for the RT-PCR labs and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) resumed regular flights between the two countries.
