PM to brief media on UNGA trip today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a press conference today to brief the media about her recently-concluded visit to the United States to attend the 76th United Nations General Assembly.

“The press meet will begin at 4:00pm today at Ganabhaban,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

The prime minister paid an official visit to New York in USA during September 19-24 to attend the 76th UNGA sessions and other high-level events.

Following the footsteps of Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina also addressed the UNGA in Bangla.

She placed six proposals in her speech and called for Covid-19 vaccines to be categorised as a ‘global public good’ to strengthen the response to the coronavirus pandemic, particularly in the developing world.

She returned home on October 1 after visiting Washington DC from September 25 to 30.
