Bangladesh logs 481 new Covid cases, 14 deaths

Bangladesh recorded 481 new coronavirus cases and 14 deaths in a 24-hour period until 8:00 am on Sunday.

The daily infection rate dropped to 2.36 per cent from Saturday’s 2.45 per cent.

The country’s overall caseload now stands at 15,62,359 and the total fatalities at 27,688, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a press release.

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 20,355 samples at 821 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 99,52,196 samples.

Meanwhile, 699 patients recovered in the past 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,23,833.

Among the fresh fatalities, three were males and 11 were females.
