Bangladesh logs 6 Covid deaths,276 cases

Bangladesh added 6 new coronavirus-related deaths and 276 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Tuesday.

The positivity rate rose to 1.44 per cent from Monday’s 1.39 per cent.

With this, the daily infection rate in the country remained below 5 per cent for more than five weeks.

In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak of 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.

The overall caseload now stands at 15,68,257 and the total fatalities at 27,834 according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 19,148 samples at 833 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,02,62,107 samples.

Meanwhile, 440 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,32,180.
