The Bangladesh Bank has extended the deadline for the relaxed policy on students’ foreign exchange release till March 31 next year considering the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The previous deadline ended on September 30 this year.
In a notice on Wednesday, the central bank said students are still studying from Bangladesh under online arrangements due to travel restrictions imposed by some countries because of the pandemic.
The authorised dealer banks may continue to affect outward remittances on account of study abroad under online teaching arrangements for another two semesters/sessions, it added.
