Bangladesh added two new coronavirus-related deaths and 214 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Monday.
This is the lowest daily deaths in 544 days. Last year, on May 5, the country witnessed only one death.
Meanwhile, the positivity rate dropped further down to more than 19-month low to 1.08 per cent. It was 1.22 per cent on Sunday.
With this, the daily-case positivity rate in the country remained below 5 per cent for the 42nd consecutive day.
In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.
Health authorities also reported 214 fresh cases from the deadly virus.
The overall caseload now stands at 15,69,753 and the total fatalities at 27,870 according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
