Bangladesh logs 6 more Covid deaths

Bangladesh reported six new coronavirus-related death and 151 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Saturday.

During this period, the positivity rate declined to 1.11 from Friday’s 1.28 per cent. With this, the daily-case positivity rate in the country remained below 2 per cent for the 25th consecutive day.

In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.

The overall caseload now stands at 15,72,278 and the total fatalities at 27,918 according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 13,569 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,05,76,273 samples.

Meanwhile, 191 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,36,303.

Dhaka division logged the highest deaths with three fatalities: followed by one each in Chattogram and Rajshahi.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
