Upload unclaimed deposits to website: BB to banks

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Wednesday instructed all scheduled banks to display the list of unclaimed deposits and valuable asserts on its website.

In a bid to ensure information monitoring and reduce potential cyber security risks, the fresh directive was made, said a circular issued by the central bank.

Instead of transferring the soft copy of unclaimed deposit and returns of valuable asserts through email, CD and USB, the banks have to issue the links displayed on their websites, said the circular.

But the hard copies of unclaimed deposits and valuable assets have to be issued to the department as usual, the release added.

Earlier, the banks had to issue soft copies of returns of unclaimed deposits through Email, CD or USB devices to the Banking Regulation and Policy Department.
