S Korean agency sets up eye care centre at DEPZ

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has set up KOICA Vision Centre at the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to provide free eye care services for EPZ workers.

Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun and Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman inaugurated it at the Dhaka EPZ Hospital on Thursday.

They also visited Korean garment manufacturing company Youngone Hi-tech Sportswear Ind and cap production firm Dhakarea.

The South Korean envoy expressed satisfaction with the overall production situation at the Dhaka EPZ and BEPZA’s role in Bangladesh’s economic development.

Welcoming the ambassador at the Dhaka EPZ, the BEPZA executive chairman said the Bangladeshi authorities always prioritise business issues of South Korean investors to help them run their business smoothly at EPZs.

He sought more South Korean investment in EPZs and the BEPZA Economic Zone. The ambassador assured the BEPZA executive chairman of providing the best support to increase South Korean investment in EPZs and the BEPZA Economic Zone.

Dhaka EPZ General Manager Md Abdus Sobhan was also present there.
