Bangladesh logs 7 more deaths, 199 new cases

Bangladesh registered 7 Covid-19 related deaths and 199 new infections in the past 24 hours until Sunday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 27,953 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.16 per cent on Sunday, that displayed a downward trend compared to Saturday.  

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,74,088 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 17,135 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,07,23,797 samples.

Meanwhile, 192 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,38,198.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
