PHP smart cars thrill visitors in Ctg

The Proton SUV X-70 smart car – a Malaysian brand assembled by PHP Automobiles factory in Chattogram – stole the show at PHP Motor Fest 2021, exciting visitors with cutting edge tech such as Voice Command, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning.

Organised in the port city by PHP Automobiles Ltd, the festival began last Sunday and concluded on Friday, showcasing hi-tech vehicles such as the Proton Saga, Proton Persona, and microbus Proton X30, along with the X-70.

The company’s Managing Director Al-haj Mohammed Akther Parvez said, “Imported smart cars featuring latest technology can probably be seen on the roads, but PHP’s Proton SUV X-70 is the first smart car assembled in Bangladesh that is equipped with Artificial Intelligence technology.

Parvez added that the X-70 attracted the most visitors in the festival, while Proton Saga became the most sold model for its economical price.

With the sincere support of legendary Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad, PHP Automobiles has been assembling Proton cars at its own factory in Chattogram since 2017, which is capable of producing around 4,000 units of vehicles annually.

Features of Proton SUV X-70

PHP engineers said drivers and passengers – using the voice command system – will be able to open the vehicle’s doors, raise or lower windows, control the radio, connect the car with mobile phones, and make or take calls without the use of hands.

If the driver is inattentive, the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) technology will sound an alarm and break automatically under special circumstances. The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) technology will inform Proton X-70 drivers about any possible risk of collisions.

The model made its debut in 2020, and due to its AI tech, became popular in many countries across the globe within a short period of time, said PHP Automobiles’ Head of Sales and Marketing Mesbah Uddin Atik.

He added that with the economical price of the Proton SAGA – the first model assembled in the PHP factory – is attracting customers for its competitive price.

Facing high demand from the buyers, PHP Automobiles organised the Motor Fest as soon as the Covid-19 situation eased in Bangladesh, insiders told The Business Post.

In the six days of the fest, a lot of people, especially businessmen, employees, professionals, bankers and insurance officers visited the event, and many bought or booked their choice of vehicles, they added.

Sales, bookings exceeded expectations

On the last day of the festival, PHP officials said the sales and bookings of vehicles at the festival have exceeded their expectations. People bought cars directly at this fest with installment facilities and registration fee support offered by the PHP Automobiles.

Those who booked their choice of vehicles will get the same facilities offered in the fest, the insiders said.

At the PHP Motor Fest, officials also showcased the Perfect Vehicles Solution (PVS) app. Users can find and order all types of Proton car parts through this app, and have those delivered within 24 hours.

Adding that all parts for Proton cars are available in Bangladesh in sufficient quantities, PHP Automobiles’ Managing Director Al-haj Mohammed Akther Parvez said, “Proton vehicles can be bought at affordable prices, and their parts are inexpensive as well.
