Covid-19: 3 more deaths, 261 new cases

Bangladesh registered three Covid-19 related deaths and 261 new infections in the past 24 hours until Thursday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 27,986 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.24 per cent on Thursday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,76,827 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 21,057 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,09,28,659 samples.

Meanwhile, 313 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,41,661.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile global Covid cases reached to 263,652,772 and registered 5,227,659 deaths.
