Two more die, 260 new cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh registered two more Covid related deaths and 260 new infections in the last 24hrs until last Monday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,050 while the positivity rate stood at 1.30 per cent.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,81,343 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 19,955 samples at 849 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,12,86,029 samples.

At the same time, 236 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,45,807.

Meanwhile, the global Covid case reached 2,74,716,057 and fatalities reached 5,354,79,5

According to the data, the country’s overall Covid-19 mortality rate until Monday morning stood at 1.77%, overall recovery rate at 97.75%, and the overall positivity lowered to 14.01%.

The seven-day moving average of single-day deaths in Bangladesh was 2.71 on Monday.

In terms of deaths per division, Dhaka and Rangpur logged one fatality each.

Of the new patients, Dhaka logged 210 cases, the highest among the divisions. No new cases were reported in 35 districts of the country.

On December 1, Bangladesh crossed a landmark of administering 100 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, nearly in 10 months after kicking off a nationwide campaign.
