Four more die, 268 new cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh registered four more Covid related deaths and 268 new infections in the last 24hrs until Sunday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,060, while the positivity rate stood at 1.57 per cent.

After adding the fresh cases, the total number of caseloads jumped to 15,83,253 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 17,072 samples at 851 laboratories across the country.

At the same time, 247 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,47,180.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,13,93,025 samples.

Meanwhile, the global Covid cases reached 279,534,118 and fatalities reached 5,398,324.

According to the data, the country’s overall Covid-19 mortality rate until Sunday morning stood at 1.77 per cent and the overall positivity lowered to 13.9 per cent.

The seven-day moving average of single-day deaths in Bangladesh was 1.71 on Sunday.

In terms of deaths per division, Dhaka logged the highest with three fatalities while Rajshahi logged one.

Of the new patients, Dhaka logged 246 cases, the highest among the divisions. No new cases were reported in 52 districts of the country.
