The Bangladesh Bank has awarded licence to Soft Tech Innovation Ltd as a Payment System Operator (PSO) to provide various payment acceptance services to merchants.
The company will render such services under the brand name of “aamarPay”.
Payment Systems Department (PSD) of the central cank issued a circular about the licence on Tuesday.
Including “aamarPay”, the number of PSOs now stands at six, according to the central bank website.
The other five companies include IT Consultants Ltd, SSL Commerz, Shurjo Mukhi, Portonics Limited and Walletmix.
Soft Tech Innovation Ltd is a software developing company established in 2005. It has two wings aamarPay and MuthoFun.
The company provides Creative Website Design, Payment Gateway, Cloud Hosting Service, SMS Aggregator and POS system service.
Including the Soft Tech, many were providing PSO services without the approval of the banking regulator.
