NBR launches software to popularise prize bonds

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Saturday inaugurated the prize bond result inquiry software (PBRIS) to popularise prize bonds across the country.

Its Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem launched the software at the NBR conference room in the capital.

He said prize bonds were once very popular but they later lost popularity because it took a long time to match the results, which was painful for buyers.

The NBR chief further said the revenue board had been trying to make such software for a year.

“Our IT team has finally created this beautiful app,” he added.

Muneem hoped the app would be effective and useful for matching the prizewinning bond numbers.

Director of the Department of National Savings Md Shah Alam said many people forget prize bond draw deadlines and many do not want to match the numbers as it is a time-consuming task.

“Even if someone has 5,000 prize bonds, he will know in just a minute whether he has won any prize or not by using the software. I hope this software will be useful for buyers,” he said.

He added prize bond results could now be found easily by entering the number directly in the search box of the software.
