26 cos to get Nat’l Productivity & Quality Excellence Award

The National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2020 will go to 26 companies in recognition of the contributions of industries and service sectors to the national economy.

The Ministry of Industries has revealed the names of 26 companies for the award in five categories for different sectors and sub-sectors. “The award aims to acknowledge, motivate and encourage the creativity of the business organisations,” read a circular issued on Sunday.

The companies were selected for setting up industries in the private sector, creating employment and making contributions to the country’s economy.

Among the large industrial organisations, International Beverages Private Limited, and Habiganj Agro Limited will get the award under the food industry category. Fair Electronics Limited, Sheltech (Pvt) Limited, and Runner Automobiles Limited will get the award under the steel and engineering category.

Envoy Textiles Limited, MM Ispahani Limited, Pahartali Textile & Hosiery Mills, and Karooni Knit Composite Limited will get the award under the textile and RMG category.

Out of the other nominees of big companies, Nitol Insurance Company Limited, Mir Telecom Limited, and Digicon Technologies Limited will get the award under the service industry category. In the IT category,  the award will go to ServicEngine Limited.

Premier Cement Mills Limited, Kohinoor Chemical Company (Bangladesh) Limited, and Square Toiletries Limited will get the award under the chemical category.

Among the medium industrial enterprises, Sylvan Technologies Limited get the award under the steel and engineering category, Mascotex Limited and Index Accessories Ltd under the textile and RMG category, Millennium Information Solution Limited under the IT category, and BRB Polymer Limited and  GME Agro Limited will be awarded under the chemical category.

The award for small industries will go to Ahmed Food Products (Pvt) Limited, M/s Tohfa Enterprise, and Jermatz Limited and the award for the micro industries category will go to Super Star Electronics Limited.

The award for state-owned industries will go to Eastern Tubes Limited.

The Dhaka Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry will get the Institutional Appreciation Award 2020 in the trade body and association category.
