Implementation of the revised Annual Development Programme (ADP) from July to April of the current fiscal year is 55.18 per cent.

The ADP implementation of the first 10 months in the last fiscal year was 49.09 per cent.

The execution rate was 9.62 per cent in April of FY2021-22, which was 7.17 per cent during the same month of the previous fiscal year, the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Planning Commission revealed on Monday.

The IMED data showed that the government spent Tk 1, 19,829 crore in the current fiscal out of Tk 2, 17,175.35 crore for the revised ADP projects. A total of 1754 projects were included in the revised ADP of the current fiscal.

In FY2020-21, the implementation rate was 82.21 per cent. The government spent Tk 1, 72,051 crore out of Tk 2, 09,272 crore for ADP projects in the FY. A total of 1,946 projects were included in the ADP.

The government gave more importance to the health sector considering the coronavirus situation in the ADP.

Officials of the IMED said 83 per cent of the revised ADP was allocated to 15 ministries and divisions out of the total allocation.

The Health Service Division is lagging behind among the highest allocated ministries and divisions like every financial year.

The Health Service Division has spent Tk 3970.42 crore or 39.75 per cent against 46 projects in the current fiscal. The Division will have to implement 61 per cent of their allocation within the rest of time, they added.

In the last fiscal year, the Health Service Division did not even spend 4.2 per cent of the total allocation.

The Ministries and Divisions that have spent less than half of the money allocated in the first 10 months of the fiscal year are Ministry of Shipping (40.52%), Office of the Prime Minister (45.13%), Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (43.76%) and Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (47.28%).

The ADP allocation for the Department of Health Education and Family Welfare has spent Tk 1082.41 or 52.03 per cent has been spent in the 10 months against 20 projects.

Of the total, Tk 334419 crore has been allocated for implementing 249 projects of the Local Government Division. The LGD has spent Tk 20872.79 crore or 60.64 per cent in the 10 months.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Industries and Information and Communication Technology Division was the top performer as it spent 82.77 per cent and 87.34 per cent respectively of the current fiscal.
