Khulna will turn into one of the business hubs

Khulna – with the help of Padma Bridge – will be able to easily and swiftly connect to Dhaka, as well as the Northern, Southern and Western parts of the country, this in turn would provide big market opportunities and ultimately turn this region into one of the business hubs. Khulna Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) President Kazi Aminul Haque told this to The Business Post’s Abdur Razzak Sohel in an exclusive interview

Many renowned companies of the country are keeping Khulna on top of their investment choice considering its business potential, as this region is home to Mongla, Benapole and Bhomra ports.

Most of the land properties in this region have already been sold and the rest is going to be sold in the coming days. Currently, it has become tough to find land available for sale in the Khulna region as many of the companies did it, and some are on their way.

Companies are focusing on purchasing land properties located near the Mongla port area.

Bangladesh will witness a communication revolution after the inauguration of the Padma Bridge. It will contribute to the development of business in this country and will inspire foreign direct investments (FDI).

Local investors will be inspired to invest in this region as they will be able to source the necessary raw materials easily and market the goods in the shortest period of time at a reasonable cost.

Khulna is well known for shrimps and crabs. The easier transportation will inspire more investments in this sector. Besides, the agricultural sector of this region will also witness a significant expansion.

Local and foreign industrialists have bought a lot of land from Khulna division to make industry. Here we see the light of hope that there will be massive industry and employment in the region.

Some companies have established gas plants, and others built cement factories. It is a clear sign that the industrial sector is developing in the Khulna region. We are hopeful that many companies will go on to develop industries this month after the Padma Bridge is launching.

Many export-oriented companies are already active in Khulna. Moreover, some companies are importing onion, garlic, pepper, and stones. Product costs are currently very high because the transportation is costly, but this issue will get resolved after the Padma Bridge is inaugurated.
