Kormo Jobs, a career development application run by the popular search engine Google, shut its operations on June 30.
“We said good-bye to Kormo Jobs on June 30, 2022. During our time together, we supported a network of over 4.5M job seekers in finding meaningful employment opportunities across India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh,” a notification on its website read.
It also said, “While Kormo Jobs has been deprecated, we’re working to better serve job seekers at greater scale across our broader products and services.”
Google in 2018 launched the application for Bangladeshi jobseekers to help them find jobs according to their qualifications. One of the goals of the service was to solve recruitment problems for both employers and jobseekers.
Kormo Jobs started its activities in Bangladesh as an emerging market. In a short period, it became a reliable platform for both jobseekers and employers.
After its success in Bangladesh, the app was launched in Indonesia in March 2019 and in India in August the following year.
The application used to function like other Bangladeshi job-seeking platforms, such as Bdjobs.com.
A user would first create a profile on the app and attach the CV. He would then apply for the jobs of his choice.
Besides, by checking profiles, employers would easily select their preferred candidates.
