The Bangladeshi passport has been ranked ninth weakest in the world among 112 nations, according to the third-quarter edition of the Henley Passport Index 2022.
Placed at 104th along with Kosovo and Libya, Bangladeshi passport holders can only travel 41 out of 227 destinations around the world without a prior visa, according to the index.
Military ruled Myanmar and bankrupt Sri Lanka have been placed above Bangladesh in the List, at 99th and 103rd respectively.
Just after Bangladesh, North Korea takes 105th place in the list and Pakistan at 109th. Passports of India and Bhutan were ranked at 87th, 93th respectively.
Maldivian passport is the strongest among the South Asian countries. The passport ranks 63th place with a visa-free access to 89 destinations.
Passport of Afghanistan is the worst as it sits at the bottom of the index.
Japanese passport held top spot with 193 visa-free destinations while Singaporean passport took 2nd spot with 192 destinations.
