Twenty companies have been selected for the President's Award for Industrial Development 2020, including Runner Automobiles and Incepta Pharmaceuticals.
The award would be given in six categories, said a government circular on August 10.
Runner Automobiles and Incepta Pharmaceuticals will jointly get the first prize in the large industry category. BRB Cable Industries and Fariha Spinning Mills will jointly get the second prize in this category while Envoy Textiles will get the third one.
Noman Terry Towel Mills will get the first prize in the medium industry category while Mascotex and APS Design Works will jointly share the second one. Bengal Polymer Wares and Acotex will jointly share the third prize.
In the small industry category, the first prize will go to Masco Overseas while Abdul Jalil Limited and Pacific Sea Foods will jointly share the second one. Madhabdi Dyeing Finishing Mills will get the third prize.
Moscow Dairy Enterprise has been selected for the first prize in the micro industry category. In the cottage industry category, Intelligent Card will get the first prize while the second one will go to Rangmela Nari Kalyan Sangstha.
Fair Electronics, Mir Telecom, and Service Engine will get the first, second and third prize respectively in the hi-tech industry category.
With the aim of creating rapid industrial development, the industries ministry gives this award every year to recognise the contribution of the industrial sector to the economy, create incentives, and encourage creativity.
