UITS observes National Mourning Day

Bangladesh’s first information technology and science-based private university - the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) observed National Mourning Day and the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through various programs.

On behalf of UITS, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Md Abu Hasan paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of independence, by placing a wreath on his portrait at Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday. Tribute was also paid to all the martyred family members of Father of the Nation.

Treasurer Professor Dr Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Registrar Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Proctor Dr Md Yasin Ali, Additional Director of ICT Cell Md Khalid Mahbub Khan, along with teachers, officials, and staff were also present.

On the occasion of the National Mourning Day, several programmes including Khatme Quran, Milad and Doa Mahfil on the university’s premises, hoisting the national flag at half-mast, hoisting the black flag, and wearing black badges.

A discussion meeting has been organised on 2:30pm, Tuesday, to be held at the University’s Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall, on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
