Steel & Raw Material Conference in Ctg on Sept 20-22

The third edition of Steel & Raw Material Conference - Emerging Bangladesh will be held at Radisson Blu in Chattogram from September 20 to September 22.

SteelMint Events will organize the international conference, featuring participation from as many as 15 countries around the world will laser-focus on Bangladesh’s macroeconomic growth parameters, infrastructural development and energy transition, steel capacity expansion and the raw material supply scenario.

The event will witness participation from several global companies such as Swiss Singapore, Scicom UK Ltd., American Iron & Metal Company, Heng Hiap Malaysia, Tata International, Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc. and Raw Metal Corp. Australia including leading technology providers such as Inductotherm Group and SMS Group, said a press release issued on Saturday.

The leaders of Bangladesh’s steel industry including top executives of BSRM, GPH Ispat, PHP Family and Rahim Group will attend the conference.

Representatives from the Ministry of Industries, Bangladesh Government, and Chittagong Port Authority will be among the key speakers, it said.

The supporting associations for the event are Bangladesh Steel Manufacturers Association (BSMA), Bangladesh Ship Breakers & Recyclers Association (BSBRA) and the Bangladesh Steel Mill Owners Association.

Indicaa Group Ltd is the principal sponsor, Electrotherm and SMS Group are the platinum sponsors among a host of other sponsors.  

To be attended by major raw material and technology suppliers from around the world, the conference will feature brainstorming sessions on the fast-changing dynamics of the global steel industry and trade amid geopolitical upheaval. A key focus area will be world trade in ferrous scrap and the projected rise in consumption in Bangladesh amid threats to sustained supply security.
