Action if anyone spreads rumour about question leak: Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Tuesday warned of strict action against spreading rumours on social media about question paper leak.

‘‘There is no scope of question paper leak. Law enforcers are vigilant over spreading rumours on social media about question paper leak. Strict action will be taken against those who spread such rumours,’’ she said.

The minister made the remarks while talking to journalists after the inauguration of training on National Education Outline-2021 at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.

She said all preparations have been made to conduct the SSC and equivalent examinations smoothly across the country. It is not possible for anyone to leak the question.

“All coaching centres would remain closed from September 12 till October 2 to check question leak during the exams. Action will be taken if any coaching centre violates the order,” she added.

This year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations will start from Thursday under 11 education boards across the country.

This year, the exams will start from 11:00am instead of 10:00am considering traffic jams and will be held for two hours instead of three hours.

The duration of the MCQ part of the exam will be 20 minutes while the written part will be held for 1 hour and 40 minutes.

A total of 20,21,868 students are expected to sit for the SSC and equivalent exams this year.

Data shows that about 15,99,711 candidates will sit for the SSC exams under nine general education boards, 2,68,495 for Dakhil exams under Madrasah Education Board and 1,53,662 for vocational exams under Bangladesh Technical Education Board this year.

The number of exam centres is 3,790 at 29,591 educational institutions this year. Like last year, the examinations will be held on a short syllabus.

All examinees have been requested to enter their respective exam halls 30 minutes before the starting time and no one except the exam centre secretary will be allowed to carry mobile phones.

The SSC and its equivalent examinations were scheduled to start on June 19 but were deferred due to flood situations in different parts of the country including the Sylhet Division.
