The Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and their equivalent examinations in 2023 will be held on all subjects with full marks.
They will be held on syllabuses restructured by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, said a statement published on the Dhaka Education Board website on Sunday.
In the SSC and equivalent exams, the ICT exam will be held with full 50 marks and the tests of other subjects will be held with full 100 marks.
The exam time will be three hours for each subject, said the statement, signed by Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee President Tapan Kumar Sarkar.
Meanwhile, it added, the HSC and equivalent exams will be held with full 100 marks in each subject and the time will be three hours as well.
The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board issued a similar notice back in May.
This year’s SSC exams on shortened syllabuses kicked off last Thursday and are set to continue until October 18. The exams are starting at 11am instead of 10am, and are being held for two hours instead of the usual three hours.
The duration of the MCQ exam is 20 minutes while that of the written exam is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The SSC exams under all 11 education boards were originally scheduled to begin on June 19 but had to be deferred due to the flood situation in the country.
Earlier, it was deferred for about four months because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Usually, the SSC exams take place in February.
This year’s HSC and equivalent exams on curtailed syllabuses will begin on November 6 and continue till December 13. The practical exams will be held from December 15 to 22.
The exams will take place for two hours — 1 hour and 40 minutes for the written test and 20 minutes for MCQ.
The exams will be held from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm for different subjects.
