The country is the most vulnerable when it comes to the health sector but never ever before the pandemic it had been felt so acutely when people were literally left at the healing mercy of miraculous power.

After that pathetic experience the government took up a series of prime projects to improve the healthcare system for mass people.

Several non-governmental and private organizations have come up with ideas of creating a strong digital foundation of the healthcare industry.

But most of those are limited to only a few specific services like telemedicine, home sample collection and online medicine delivery but the overall healthcare facilities for all are still out of people’s reach.

Under this circumstance here came the nation’s first digital healthcare aggregator platform ‘Health Bondhu’ that has already generated great enthusiasm among mass people.

The organization is working with the promise of providing accurate healthcare information and healthcare services at affordable cost at relatively cheap cost.

Health Bondhu has classified all healthcare services under three categories - home, platform and centre service - and will provide services to customers as per their needs by bringing all healthcare providers under one umbrella.

In addition, customized packages will be there with various types of attractive offers, deals and discounts.

It will also offer health tips and health-related educational videos and storing personal and family health records, zero subscription fees and postpaid service booking system to serve as a patient-centric platform to full extent.

Mesbah Uddin Saeed, the Chairman of Health Bondhu, came like an angel investor in the endeavor of Nafizul Islam and Rajikul Hasan, two young entrepreneurs of Health Bondhu.

Mezbah Uddin Saeed said people would be able to avail themselves of healthcare facilities sitting at home with the help of Health Bondhu.

All kinds of services including doctors, nurses, hospitals, ICUs and medicines will be available through an app, he said, hoping that telemedicine services would be made easier through this platform.

One of the founders and Managing Director Nafizul Islam said: “Who does not want to reduce the cost of treatment, save money and time? In Bangladesh, getting the right healthcare information at the right time is still unsatisfactory.”

The system in place here lacks proper treatment and it is time-consuming, he said.

“We are accumulating all the basic information and service details of hospitals, diagnostic centres, physiotherapy, mental health organizations, medicine delivery, nano care, organic food, medical tourism, home sample collection and many more,” he said.

He said they had already been tied up with some quality healthcare providers and their mobile application is so user-friendly that anyone can easily book any service from anywhere and anytime.

It has partnered with 30 health care providers. It carried out health campaigns across the country. It has awarded 10 individuals and organizations and professionals for their outstanding contribution to the country’s health sector.

Health Bondhu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gulshan Clinic Limited to reduce healthcare suffering by serving potential services.

All the services of Gulshan Clinic will be available on the website and the app of Health Bondhu’s platform at a minimal price compared to the actual price of Gulshan Clinic’s services.

Gulshan Clinic has been providing quality medical care and diagnostic services with reputation. Health Bondhu garnered an investment of around Tk80 lakh from its angel investors.

Rajikul Hasan Rifat, founder and CEO of the organization, said, “We are trying to educate people to ensure precociousness before pursuing any healthcare service through providing 100 percent safe and unbiased healthcare facilities.”

“Initially, our operation is only Dhaka based although we have 10,000 active users and 15,000 indirect users who have connected their corporate clients with the platform and received 35000 services through Health Bondhu App,” he said.

Acknowledgments from customers will definitely consolidate the base of the platform and help expand its activities all around the country to create a digital healthcare ecosystem for mass people, he hoped.

The platform organized the ‘Digital Healthcare Ecosystem Conference – 2022’ for the first time in which representatives of healthcare providers along with personalities from the policy-making level of the health sector were present.

Speakers at the event shared their thoughts on the digitization of the healthcare sector of Bangladesh.

“By building a robust rapport among several healthcare providers, we are confident that we can succeed to construct a compete framework for healthcare digitalization,” he said.

The CEO hoped that they would manage to get targeted app users of around 100k till December 2022.
