The two Turntable Ladder (TTL) trucks were added to the Fire Service’s fleet after Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal inaugurated them during an even at the force’s headquarters in Dhaka on Sunday.

In 2009, the total workforce of this organization was just over 6,000. Currently, this workforce is more than 14,000. This number will be around 16,000 at the end of the ongoing project of fire station construction.

Apart from this, initiatives have been taken to increase the manpower of this organization to 31,000, said the Home Minister.

Referring to the terrible fire accident at BM Container Depot, Asaduzzaman said the fire service members did not hesitate to take risk their lives to save people. It was proved once again by the martyrdoms of 13 fire fighters in Sitakunda accident.
