The curtain has dropped on the three-day Chattogram Motor Fest 2022, organised by PHP Family. The event started at the port city’s GEC Convention Centre on Thursday and ended on Saturday.
The fifth edition of the Motor Fest has received a great response from visitors from all types of backgrounds. Hundreds of people were seen flocking to the event every day, especially youths.
The main attraction of the fest was the unveiling of the Proton Persona Signature 2022 model sedan, which took place on the first day. At the fest, there was a discount offer on the car, which has a 1500 cc VVT engine with a five-year or 1.5 lakh km service warranty and free services five times. The car also has full leather seats, six airbags, 16-inch aluminium wheels with 360-degree splicing and six USB ports.
In addition to electric stability control, the car has a traction control system, LED daytime running lights and electric mirror lights with auto function as well. Several Persona Signature cars were sold at the fest.
PHP Family Chairman and Ekushey Padak winner Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman was the chief guest at the closing ceremony on Saturday evening. International Islamic University Chittagong’s Board of Trustees Chairman and Chattogram 15 MP Prof Dr Abu Reza Mohammad Nezam Uddin Nadvi and Shulakbahar Ward Councillor Morshed Alam were special guests, among others.
Addressing the event, Mizanur Rahman said no obstacles were able to hold Bangladesh back in the past nor they will in future. “Now, we are making cars. One day, we will also start making planes in Bangladesh, Inshallah.”
Praising the PHP Family, Nezam Uddin said many renowned car manufacturers in the world are closing down. It is really a bold decision by PHP Family to take the initiative to make cars here.
Addressing the closing session, PHP Automobiles Ltd Managing Director Mohammed Akther Parvez thanked everyone concerned for making the three-day event a success.
“We were delighted and overwhelmed by the massive response we received from all the visitors,” he said, adding that they plan to organise the Motor Fest on a bigger scale in the future with everyone’s cooperation.
Along with the Persona Signature, Proton Saga MC and Bangladesh’s first talking car SUV X-50, Proton X-70 were also unveiled and displayed at the fest. Apart from the PHP’s Proton brand, cars of Haval PFSK, Chery and several other brands were also showcased there.
Apart from the cars, a significant number of motorcycles from PHP Automobiles, Yamaha, Suzuki, JME and some other companies were displayed and sold at the fest, which was also attended by various lubricant companies and financial institutions.
