Unique Hotel & Resorts gets ICAB National Award

The Unique Hotel and Resorts Ltd (UHRL) has won the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) National Award for its annual report, integrated reporting, and corporate governance disclosure-2021.

Only the UHRL received the “Certificate of Merit” in the category of services sector.

UHRL Chief Financial Officer Jone Kumer Gupta received the award from Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi at a gala event held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on Saturday. This year, the ICAB distributed awards to listed and non-listed 25 entities in 16 different sectors.

Speaking at the event, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said, “Accountability is key to bringing discipline in a country’s economy. Bangladesh is moving forward overcoming all challenges. I thank the ICAB for ensuring accountability in the country’s trade and commerce arena.”

The awardees include public sector banks, private sector banks, financial services sector, manufacturing, power and energy sector, infrastructure and construction, insurance, diversified holdings, communication and information technology, public sector, NGOs, services sectors, agriculture, corporate governance, integrated reporting and overall winner.

Apart from recognising the first, second and third positions in each category, 17 entities were awarded the “Certificate of Merit” on achieving minimum threshold scores.
