JSC, JDC exams finally scrapped

The government has finally decided to scrap the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations from now on.

The education ministry – in a letter issued Monday – informed authorities concerned to consider suspending the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) of 2022, 2023 and onwards, in accordance with the National Education Curriculum 2021.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division sent a letter signed by its deputy secretary Akther Unnisa Shiuly to all relevant divisions, directorates, committees and boards to take necessary action in this regard.

Education Ministry came up with the decision as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently has given consent to discontinue the exams for class-8 students in schools and Madrasah.

Earlier, the concerned division of the ministry in December, last year sent a proposal to the Prime Minister Office regarding cancel of the public exams.
