Japan government has extended a grant of approximately Tk 22.39 million to two Bangladeshi NGOs namely Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT) and Switch Bangladesh Foundation.
Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh IWAMA Kiminori signed the ‘Grant Contracts’ for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGHSP) at the Embassy of Japan on Sunday with the respective of the two organisations, a press release said.
DCHT has been awarded US$92,079 dollars as grant for the Project for Procurement of Medical Radiology Equipment at Dhaka Community Medical College Hospital in the city.
Switch Bangladesh Foundation has been awarded US$ 123,575 dollars as grant for the Project for Construction of School for Compulsory Education of Children in Poverty in Dhaka District.
Japan has supported 210 NGO projects through its Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGHSP) since 1989 with a view to enhance economic and social human security in the grass-root levels.
