Scholarship results of fifth graders withdrawn

The result of the scholarship examination of fifth graders of government primary schools across the country was withdrawn on Tuesday evening, several hours after it was published.

In a circular, Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Director General Shah Rezwan Hayat said that the published result was faulty due to some technical errors. It was withdrawn because it needs to be scrutinised again.

He also said that the revised result will be published on the websites of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and DPE on Wednesday at noon.

Earlier in the day, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain had announced the result of the primary scholarship examinations of 2022 at a press briefing at the secretariat in Dhaka.

A total of 82,383 fifth graders were selected. The students that will be selected in line with the revised result will receive money from the scholarship in two categories for the next three years.

The list of scholarship recipients will also be available through the offices of the divisional deputy directors, the offices of the district primary education officer, and the offices of the upazila and thana education officers.

The amount of the stipend was increased in 2015. Previously, the talent pool stipend was Tk 200 per month, but it was hiked to Tk 300 in 2015. The general stipend was Tk 150 per month and it was raised to Tk 225. Students were tested on Bangla, English, Mathematics and Science on a scale of 100 marks, with 25 marks allotted for each subject during the two-hour exam.
