Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) M Khurshid Hossain said that they want to be the servant of the country’s citizens, not rulers.
“We want to help the innocent, helpless, and vulnerable people of the country sincerely as much as we can,” he said while addressing a darbar at Lt Col Azad Memorial Hall in RAB Headquarters in Kurmitola area in Uttara on Monday.
Addressing the RAB personnel, he said, “At the end of the day, you will be satisfied after retirement from work. If you misbehave with others, your conscience will trouble you.”
The darbar, organised on the occasion of the 19th founding anniversary of the elite force and RAB Memorial Day, was attended by the captains and commanders of various RAB battalions.
Khurshid said, “We have heard the sorrowful tales of the family members of martyrs today. We may offer some financial support to them, but we can never fill the void created in the hearts of the children who became fatherless and wives who lost their husbands. Martyrs are our pride. Our duty is to stay beside the families of the martyred RAB personnel to provide all kinds of cooperation.”
The RAB DG said “I have received reports from several camps that when the junior officers approach the commanding officers listen to their pleas, but the camp in-charges do not. I am taking this into consideration.”
