The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited has filed a case against unidentified people who had damaged a window of a metro rail coach by throwing stones on its way from Agargaon to Kazi Para Station around 11:00am on Sunday. Assistant Manager (Line Operations) of Metrorail Md Samiul Qadir filed the case with Kafrul police station on Monday.
Kafrul police officer-in-charge Md Hafizur Rahman told The Business Post that none was yet to be arrested in connection with the incident but they are investigating it raids to arrest the culprits are on. He said that the case was filed under section 427 of the Penal Code along with sections 35/43 of the Metro Rail Act 2015.
According to Samiul Qadir, On April 30 at 11:45am, I came to know through the station controller Mirpur-10 that just before entering Kazipara station from Agargaon, the Uttara North bound metro train came under attack as unidentified people from the Eastern side of the rail pelted stone to damage the metro rail. “A windowpane of the 3rd coach of the northbound metro train (REC-4) was broken. The amount of damage in this is estimated to be Tk 10 lakh in total,” he said.
