Qurbani now hassle-free with Bengal Meat

In a metropolis like Dhaka, dealing with sacrificial animals – from purchase and slaughter to processing – has gotten more challenging for city dwellers living under a schedule, as many have little to no experience in shopping for cattle on a budget.

The professional at Bengal Meat – the country’s premium meat processing company – provides a complete Qurbani solution to those who need it.

Not only Bengal Meat sells sacrificial animals that are raised healthy and disease-free, while maintaining their typical eating habits, they also carry out the sacrifice and have the meat delivered to consumers’ doorsteps in a competitive price package during Eid-ul-Azha.

Bengal Meat has been successfully offering this service to the citizens of Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet during the Eid season for a number of years. The firm has garnered a lot of praise and positive feedback from their customers.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Asif said, “Bengal Meat offers a comprehensive package that includes everything from raising the animals up until Eid to slaughtering, processing, and delivering the meat to customers’ doorsteps.”

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, when people used to favour contact-less purchase of sacrificial animals, Bengal Meat’s services evolved into a substitute for going to cattle markets, slaughtering animals, and processing meat.

They are providing the same service for the upcoming Eid, and according to their website, more than half of their initial cattle stock had already been sold before the start of the digital haat provided by other web portals.

Shaikh Imran Aziz, Bengal Meat’s head of marketing said, “Our websites initially listed a supply of more than 350 sacrificial cows, but this is the first time we have brought more than 35 organic grass-fed cattle for sale.

“We are getting a huge number of responses, and over 200 cattle listed in the websites have already been sold. Nearly 50 per cent of the organic-grass fed cows have been sold as well.”

Shaikh Imran, however, confirmed that they will boost their stock in response to demand, and that booking will continue two days prior to the Eid day.

The comprehensive package

Customers are required to pay in advance, and there is an extra fee for services including slaughtering. Depending on size, the cost to slaughter a cow ranges from Tk 12,000 to Tk 25,000, according to Bengal Meat.

The meat will be packaged in 3kg biodegradable packs, and each carton will have 15kg of meat. Brain, head meat, legs, and offal such as liver, kidney, heart, lungs and spleen would be delivered separately.

In Dhaka city, processed meat will be delivered on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day of Eid in a chilled condition and after the 4th day, meat will be delivered in frozen condition. In Chittagong and Sylhet cities, meat will be delivered in frozen condition on the 4th day of Eid.

Shared Qurbani are available for Dhaka city residents only. With this service, a maximum of seven people can split the cost of the cattle. Multiple shares of a cow may be purchased by one customer.

Customers of shared Qurbani only need to provide their name, address, and portion size. The rest of the work will be completed by Bengal Meat in the presence of an official from the Islamic Foundation, Shaikh Imran informed.
