Mijanur, Habibur elected chairman, secretary of DRC-ICAB

Md Mijanur Rahman and Md Habibur Rahman have been elected as chairman and secretary respectively for the year 2023 of Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).

They were elected in the 43rd annual general meeting of DRC-ICAB held on December 27 at ICAB Auditorium in the capital, said a press release. The meeting also approved and adopted financial statements of DRC for the year 2021-2022.

Md Mijanur Rahman is a fellow member of the ICAB. He qualified as a chartered accountant in the session May-June of year 2010. He studied management in Dhaka University and completed his articleship programme from Ahsan Kamal Sadeq & Co Chartered Accountants.

Currently he is the position of general manager (corporate accounts, tax and VAT) at Aman Group of Companies. Earlier, he was the director of Aziz Halim Khair Choudhury Chartered Accountants.

Mijanur Rahman also worked as general manager (finance and accounts) of Bestway Group, Dada Group and Hameem Group. At present Mijanur Rahman is serving as a resource person in the ICAB Academic Campus.

The newly-elected secretary of DRC-ICAB, Md Habibur Rahman, studied accounting in Jagannath University.

He became an associate member of the ICAB in 2014 having completed his CA articleship with Khan Wahab Shafique Rahman & Co Chartered Accountants.

He is also a fellow member of The Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) and The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Other members of DRC-ICAB are Md Anwaruzzaman, Mohammad Refaul Karim Chowdhury, Ramdas Howlader, Mahmudur Rahman, Khandaker Mamun, Mohammad Moin Uddin Riad and Golam Fazlul Kabir.
