11 banks win 'Remittance Award'

11 banks win 'Remittance Award'

Eleven banks – including one specialised and two state-run banks – won the “Remittance Award” due to their efforts in providing smooth services for sending remittance through proper channels.

These banks are – Agrani Bank, Sonali Bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Islami Bank Bangladesh; Dutch Bangla Bank, The City Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, Pubali Bank, Bank Asia, Southeast Bank, and Al-Arafah Islami Bank.

The Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB), a non-profit organisation, conferred the award at an event in a city hotel on Monday. The organisation also organised a conference titled, “Branding Bangladesh beyond Bangladesh.”

Respective representatives of the banks received the award from Dr Mashiur Rahman, the economic affairs adviser to the prime minister.

The Centre for NRB Chairperson Shekil Chowdhury, ex-IGP Shahidul Haque and executives of different banks and organisations were present on the occasion.
