The Bangladesh Bank has instructed all the banks to extend business hours to three hours from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The decision to expand the banking hours, which was earlier two hours and a half, applies only for next Monday and Tuesday, according to a BB circular.
Earlier, the banking hours were in between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm.
The central bank earlier issued a set of directives for the banks on the number of bank employees and transactions process, maintaining health guidelines.
The BB also directed that the officers and employees, who live in proximity of the branches concerned, will work for their clients in turn.
It may be mentioned here that banks will have to maintain new timetable during Ramadan.
