The Bangladesh Bank has set new transaction hours for banks from 9:00am to 3:00pm which will come into effect from Wednesday.
The Department of Off-site Supervision of the central bank issued a circular in this regard on Monday following the new office schedule announced by the government to save electricity.
All the officials and employees must leave their offices within 5:00pm after completing post-transaction and other activities, it said.

At present, the regular working hours at banks are from 10:00am to 6:00pm while they operate transactions until 4:00pm.
The cabinet on Monday fixed new office hours for all government and autonomous institutions from 8:00am to 3:00pm to tackle the ongoing energy crisis. The decision will come into effect from Wednesday.
