The Bangladesh Bank has asked commercial banks to operate with half capacity for another 14 days, considering the outbreak of Omicron strain and the overall situation of the viral disease in the country.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard on Thursday.
Under the new directive, commercial banks will operate with half capacity till February 21.
Earlier on January 24, the central bank instructed all banks to run with half capacity till February 6 as per health safety guidelines announced by the government aimed to contain the spread of Covid-19 infections.
