BB launches Tk 25,000cr refinance scheme for CMSMEs

The Bangladesh Bank has unveiled a Tk 25,000 crore refinance scheme for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs).

“The new scheme has been launched aiming at creating easy access to funds for the entrepreneurs in the sector,” said a circular issued by the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday.

Under the scheme, the borrowers of CMSMEs will get five-year term loans with a maximum interest rate of 7 per cent, it said.

Besides, banks and financial institutions can disburse loans through their own branches/sub-branches/agent banking/mobile financial services (MFS), the circular added.
