Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought bank account details of actress Pori Moni, sacked Awami League leader Helena Jahangir and other eight individuals.
BFIU, a wing of the central bank, on Wednesday asked the commercial banks to send all information, including transaction details within three working days of receiving its letter.
The eight individuals, whose bank account details have been sought, are models Faria Mahbub Piyasa, Maryam Akhter and producer Nazrul Islam.
The government agency said it asked for the bank account details of the individuals at the request of an intelligence agency.
Earlier on August 4, following a raid in her Banani residence, Pori Moni was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for possessing illegal drugs and narcotics
Besides, RAB arrested Helena Jahangir from her Gulshan apartment on July 29. Later, a case was filed against her under Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Act for running IPTV Joyjatra Television without government approval and license.
