The US dollar rate for export encashment has been fixed at Tk 100 per dollar, which was previously Tk 99.50, aiming to mitigate the dollar crisis in the banking sector.
The Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) and the Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers Association (BAFEDA) set the new rates at a meeting in Dhaka on Sunday.
The associations also decided not to impose any charge on remitters in their exchange houses abroad, and to keep the houses open on holidays.
