Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) has become the country’s first bank to connect its ATM network with Bangabandhu Satellite-1.
EBL and Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) signed an agreement in this regard at a ceremony at the BSCL head office in Dhaka on Tuesday, the bank said in a press release.
BSCL Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shahjahan Mahmood and EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BSCL Managing Director Shafiqul Islam, General Manager (Sales and Marketing) Shah Ahmedul Kabir and EBL Chief Technology Officer Zahidul Haque, among others, were also present at the signing ceremony.
