Bangladesh Bank on Sunday appointed Dr Md Habibur Rahman as its chief economist.
The central bank’s Executive Director (Research) Habibur Rahman has been recruited in the post as per the Board of Directors' decision made at the 419th meeting in January, said a BB notice.
Habibur Rahman joined the central bank in 1990 as assistant director at the research division, reports BSS.
In his career in the BB, he worked in the Governor Secretariat, department of policy research and as senior research economist.
He obtained graduation degree in economics from Jahangirnagar University.
