The Bangladesh Association of Banks on Wednesday sought more time to implement the new salary structure set by the central bank for entry-level officers and staff.
BAB Chairman Nazrul Islam Mazumder made the remark after a meeting Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir at the central bank in Dhaka.
“The salary structure cannot be made operational from March 1, and will need more time to implement,” he said.
“Moreover, more discussions is needed before implementing the stipulated salary structure,” said the chairman of BAB, an organisation of private bank sponsors.
